Meet The Owner!

Hey there! I'm Jess, & welcome to my small business, ThatADHDGirl where I’m all about advocating and bringing awareness to any and all disabilities and disorders! Being neurodivergent myself, as I live with ADHD and Tourette Syndrome among many others, I strive to celebrate neurodiversity and ending stigmas surrounding them. In between coming up with designs and ideas for my business, I like to sing, watch TV, play my switch, read, & educate and spread awareness about Tourette Syndrome on Tiktok.

How ThatADHDGirl Came To Be!

Before ThatADHDGirl became what it is, I was just designing for fun. I showed my designs that I was working on to my mom and I brought up the idea of wanting to start a business to sell my designs on/as pins to friends and family. That's when I came up with ThatADHDGirl. I originally started ThatADHDGirl back in November '21 because I was feeling frustrated and misunderstood and I wanted to change the way people saw me and their perception of ADHD, and to also make some extra income on the side, but since my Tourette's diagnosis, I can no longer work because of my coprolalia (the swearing tic).

Now at 25, I'm happier than ever and living my dream that I've imagined since I was 22!

My Mission

My life's journey and mission is to educate, advocate, and spread awareness about ADHD and Tourette Syndrome, as well as other disabilities & disorders, the struggles of daily life, and to end the stigmas of having to hide it from the world. My BIGGEST goal in my journey is to change the way it's accepted and dealt with in the school systems. As someone with first-hand experience with the way I was treated by school officials and how my case was handled, I believe there is much improvement that can be done for those with learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities. If the opportunity ever arises, I would love to tour the world and speak in schools about ADHD & Tourette Syndrome as well as other disabilities & disorders. It would also be cool to collab with NJCTS (New Jersey Center For Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders), The TAA (Tourette Association Of America), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and many others, if that ever happens.
